Telfar is building out a denim wardrobe.
The New York City-based brand favored by Oprah, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez and more released Wednesday Telfar Denim, a collection of unisex jeans, shorts, skirts and jackets.
Described as a “modular denim system,” the collection offers a straight leg jean constructed with three panel segmentations, a thigh-hole jean with frayed cutout thighs, and a baggy jean with deep pockets. Each jean has belt-loop stash pockets, custom hardware and a debossed leather back patch.
The collection also includes baggy shorts, cutoff short shorts, a mini skirt and a long skirt. A boxy jean jacket has removeable sleeves and can be worn as a vest.
The cotton and organic cotton rigid denim pieces are come in black and indigo washes.
Denim has been “part of the intrinsic DNA of the label from the very beginning,” Telfar stated. In December, the brand launched denim bags and accessories. It also released a collection of raw denim boots and bags with Ugg.
Telfar aims to eschew the fashion schedule and showroom system by “building a wardrobe block by block.” The brand said the denim line “forms a cornerstone” of its “2024 vision to re-center apparel on his own terms.”
“Telfar Denim is not meant to sell out in one day or one week. It’s here to stay,” the brand said.
The collection is available in sizes 2XS-2XL. The brand said it perfected the unisex fit over two years by using its TELFARTV platform, a 24-hour live linear television network, to fit the collection on hundreds of bodies.
The brand added that it secured “the right manufacturing and materials so that the line could enter the market accessible to an entire community rather than just a seasonal shopper.”
The collection is available now on Telfar’s website and retails for $110 to $240.
