Music and fashion fans alike will enjoy Lee’s new collection.
The Kontoor Brands-owned label teamed with Daydreamer, the Los Angeles-based female-founded brand known for “Made in L.A.” vintage-inspired band T-shirts.
Comprised of three themes—the spirit of the West, the craftsmanship of workwear and ’90s nostalgia—the designs “nod to the past while empowering women today,” Lee stated. Each item combines Lee’s denim heritage with Daydreamer’s laidback, SoCal style. T-shirts are also made in L.A.
The Western collection offers raglan crewneck tops and tees with vintage-inspired Lee cowboy graphics created exclusively for the collaboration, a relaxed-fit Western denim shirt and high-rise bootcut jeans in indigo and black.
Indigo and ecru chore jackets coordinate with hammer-loop pants in the workwear range. Co-branded tees and sweatshirts feature graphics that emphasize both brands’ commitment to quality and craft.
The ’90s assortment updates styles from the past for today’s consumers. Lee’s classic Rider jacket, available in indigo and washed black, loosen up with a roomier fit. The ’90s Carol jean features natural-looking wears and whiskering. Punk-inspired graphics decorate sweatshirts, while doodle motifs are featured front and center on cropped thermal tops.
The collaboration is Lee’s first exclusively female partnership. “Generations of women have worn Lee, from rock stars to moms, cowgirls to college students. Blending our original icons with Daydreamer’s aesthetic creates a very cool fit that will inspire a whole new generation of fans,” said Betty Madden, Lee VP of global design.
Founded by avid music lover Laura Glover in 2011, Daydreamer is now part of the Bluebird & Co. Inc. family of brands which also includes Weekend Life and Frankie Made California. Daydreamer’s customers include Nordstrom, Nasty Gal, Urban Outfitters, Fred Segal, Free People and more. It holds the graphic licenses for popular franchises like Peanuts, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Queen and more.
“We are beyond excited to be offering our first co-branded product collaboration,” Glover said about the line with Lee. “Daydreamer historically partners with icons. To have now co-designed a product assortment with an iconic American heritage brand such as Lee is an incredibly proud moment for me and the brand.”
Lee x Daydreamer retails for $75-$138. Tops and jackets are carried in sizes XS-XL and jeans are available in sizes 24-35.
The collection is available now on both brands’ websites, Lee stores, and select boutiques and retailers such as Fred Segal and Revolve.
