With Grammy Sunday quickly approaching, all eyes are poised to be on the red carpet.
On Feb. 2, the 67th annual Grammy Awards will take place at Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles, bringing together the biggest hitmakers to battle it out for music’s most prestigious trophies.
In addition to celebrating music’s brightest stars like Levi’s campaign star Beyoncé, who earned 11 nominations for her genre-breaking “Cowboy Carter” album, and Charli XCX, who’s trendsetting “Brat” album earned three nominations, the night will also showcase some of the boldest looks—on and off the stage.
The Grammy red carpet has a history of sparking fashion revolutions. Take, for example, the moment in 2000 when “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer Jennifer Lopez turned heads in a jungle-print dress by Donatella Versace. Her daring look dominated the media, and fans were so captivated that their searches for the dress led Google to launch “Google Images” in response to the overwhelming demand for pictures of Lopez in that iconic gown.
While not all red carpet looks spark new inventions, they certainly have created a frenzy online. According to data from Launchmetrics, Taylor Swift consistently ranks among the top Grammy red carpet moments generating the most internet buzz. Her 2024 appearance in a custom white Schiaparelli gown, for instance, generated over $319 million in media impact value (MIV), making her the most talked-about female celebrity on the carpet that year.
Billie Eilish, known for her designer-meets-streetwear style, wasn’t far behind, with $167.3 million in MIV, Launchmetrics noted. For her red carpet look, the “Birds of a Feather” singer wore a vintage Barbie-inspired varsity jacket reworked by Chrome Hearts over an oversized white Willy Chavarria button-up and black skinny tie, paired with sleek black pants.
Latin superstar Bad Bunny also made waves with his unique look, donning an all-black outfit paired with a playful hat featuring animal-like ears and a giant sunflower. But he proved his versatility when he slowed things down during his 2023 performance, opting for a simple white T-shirt and light wash Levi’s jeans.
“God Said No” singer Omar Apollo also embraces a more minimalist approach on the red carpet, like in 2023 when the heartthrob wore a striking trompe-l’oeil look from Bottega Veneta’s runway. His jacket, button-down shirt and jeans were all crafted entirely from leather.
