As an avid hiker, Devin Booker has taken inspiration from some of Arizona’s most scenic areas for colorways of his first two signature sneakers from Nike. And for a forthcoming release with McDonald’s, the Phoenix Suns’ stars will look to a man-made sight unlike any other in Sedona.
The McDonald’s x Nike Book 2 “Sedona” takes after the restaurant in the Arizona city, which is the only location in the world not to feature turquoise branding rather than the traditional Golden Arches. Strict city regulations wouldn’t allow for yellow to clash with the natural scenery, so the shade was chosen to better fit in with the local aesthetics.
While the upper and midsole appear in a sand color, the very same shade of turquoise is used for the translucent outsole, lining and, of course, a McDonald’s logo on both the lateral heel and tongue tag. The inner-tongue tag then features a drive-thru graphic, and faint cracking can be made out on the upper to mimic the adobe restaurant. Turquoise is also used for the box, which gets a traditional yellow McDonald’s logo to go along with the other branding.
