Goods & Services has joined forces with Red Wing Heritage to release a new take on the Postman 101 Oxford, one of the Minnesota brand’s understated silhouettes.
First introduced in the 1950s, the Postman was designed as the first whole-cut Oxford with a cushion wedge sole. Built for professionals on their feet all day, it offered durability and uniform polish while marking a departure from traditional leather soles and heels.
For this limited commission, Goods & Services reimagined the design with modern updates. The shoe now features a Vibram 132 lug sole made from high-abrasion rubber with deep traction, extending longevity and wear. A removable, hand-cut vegetable-tanned leather kiltie sits across the vamp, allowing the shoe to toggle between streamlined and more detailed profiles. As with most Red Wing shoes, the model can be fully resoled and rebuilt, maintaining the brand’s commitment to long-term care.
“We’re known for applying traditional shoemaking and repair techniques to unexpected shoes, and the Postman felt like a perfect shoe for us,” Rory Fortune, founder of Goods & Services, said in a statement. “When most people think of Red Wing Heritage, they naturally go to Iron Rangers or Moc Toes, but I believe the Postman 101 is such an underrated shoe given its historical legacy, design and craftsmanship.”
