Given its Hollywood inspiration, Jonathan Anderson’s debut cruise show for Dior aptly took place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Wednesday, bringing in celebrity attendees like Sabrina Carpenter and Anya Taylor-Joy.
In an official description, the brand explains that the collection “explores the house’s longstanding relationship with Hollywood,” with the spring 1949 haute couture jacket worn by Marlene Dietrich in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Stage Fright” serving as a jumping-off point. The California poppy was used as a reference as well, with florals being a recurring motif in the cruise collection.
In the shoe category, Anderson and his design director of shoes Nina Christen maintained the codes they’ve previously showcased since their tenures at Dior began — the pair used to work together at Loewe — while bringing in new inventive elements.

As described by the brand itself, “Shoes are animated by flowers and sequins” in the 2027 cruise collection — florals and statement embellishment have been a major part of Anderson and Christen’s footwear story so far.
The floral motif, previously showcased in other collections with designs including oversize rosettes and recreations of water lilies, came up in a few different ways for resort: mules featured delicate petals in a 3D arrangement, while clear square-toe heels featured a floral design at the toe resembling a white-trimmed water lily. Also in the floral realm, slingbacks featured embellishments that looked like orchids— including a vivid purple and yellow version with realistic gradience. Meanwhile, a patterned kitten heel pump had some feathery adornments.
The collection also experimented with two-toned heels, presenting a pump with which was laterally bifurcated with a pearly white hue in front and black in back.
The Dior Bow sandal, introduced in Anderson’s spring 2026 collection, showed up in the cruise collection as well with jazzy updates. There was a sparkly fringy tweed version, a two-toned option and an iteration with ribbons falling alongside the bow. The silhouette, which pays homage to the house with a D-shaped sole, has been showcased by a range of celebrities since its debut. At LACMA, Sabrina Carpenter wore a butter yellow satin version with a sheer yellow dress straight from the cruise collection.
Dior’s description for the cruise collection insists “The L.A. man is not overlooked.” In that vein, men’s footwear highlights included suede neutrals and a houndstooth sneaker with a puffy tongue.
