After six months of developing its concept to launch, Texworld and Apparel Sourcing are heading West. The co-located shows will make their debut in Los Angeles‘ Fashion District July 25-26, 2023 at the California Market Center (CMC) in Los Angeles. The inaugural shows immediately follow the Summer Edition of Texworld NYC (July 18-20), providing a West Coast option and add-on for attendees and exhibitors.
“The purpose of the LA show is to meet our international exhibitors’ request to access the West and East Coast markets in a single trip. The LA show will also enable West Coast buyers to gain access to our international exhibitors,” said Jennifer Bacon, vice president, fashion and apparel, Messe Frankfurt Inc., the parent company of Texworld LA and Texworld NYC. “The California Market Center is in the heart of downtown LA’s Fashion District and is the hub of fashion and creative communities. It is home to showrooms, events, creative offices and businesses catering to the downtown LA community.”
Like at its New York counterpart, buyers attending Texworld and Apparel Sourcing LA can find finished apparel, contract manufacturing and private-label development across ready-to-wear for men, women, children and accessories, according to the Messe Frankfurt Inc. team.
While the NY show typically features over 1,000 exhibitors, the LA show will be more intimate, featuring approximately 120 international textile manufacturers. Even so, the show will present a highly global exhibitor base, with international textile manufacturers, design studios and suppliers from USA, China, India, Korea, Taiwan, Turkey and more showcasing the latest sustainable textiles to functional fabrics and knits to laces, along with findings, trims and accessories.
“With the number of diverse product categories exhibited at this one event, visitors will experience the latest advancements in a very exciting, yet informative manner,” said Bacon.
Educational seminars
Serving as an essential meeting place for global companies to learn everything from navigating supply chain problems to discovering trends and resources for future collections, Texworld and Apparel Sourcing prioritize educational programming to keep attendees informed on the latest industry news.
“The show’s intimate layout and environment at the CMC will allow visitors to really get a feel for the latest trends curated by Doneger | TOBE and new material offerings through the various specially curated areas and educational seminars including the attendee-favorite Lenzing Seminar Series,” said Bacon. Lenzing Fibers Inc, a long-standing partner of Texworld NYC, will host a talk by Erica Redd, business development manager at chemical company Lenzing Group. Redd will also moderate two panels, “Understanding the Next-Gen Materials Revolution” and “The Future of Textiles: Alternative Materials and Application Innovations.”
Edward Hertzman, CEO of Hertzman Global and founder of Sourcing Journal, will moderate two panels: “Logistics H2 Pain Points & Predictions” and “Why Making in the U.S. Makes Sense Right Now.” The panels will focus on the outlook for sourcing heading into Q4 and the benefits of including U.S. manufacturing in your sourcing matrix.
“Catering to a wide range of sourcing professionals from apparel fabric buyers, research and product development specialists to designers, merchandisers and others, Texworld LA encompasses all sectors of the sourcing industry, inviting them to gather, build new relationships and foster collaboration,” said Bacon. “Many major brands from the West Coast are already signed up to attend.”
