Cool jeans and chic coats were the unofficial uniform of fashion week attendees. Across London, Milan and Paris, the fashion crowd stepped out in street style looks that balanced style and function.
Jean choices were anything but basic. Gucci monogram and studs decorated a pair of flare jeans paired with a fur-trimmed check coat. A vintage-looking leather bomber jacket was styled with jeans with Western-inspired appliques down the sides. A pair of jeans with daisy embroidery, topped with a classic car coat, hinted to spring’s elevated boho revival.
Others embraced a clashing of styles. A floral shirt dress was paired with shredded jeans and work boots; Bermuda shorts were worn with a workwear jacket, mesh top and cap-toe kitten heels.
Leather-like coatings added an edgy look to black flare jeans. Belts were worn as chains on low slung wide-leg cargo jeans. Back cinches emphasized the volume of other jeans.
Simpler denim looks included two-tone pieced jeans and baggy faded jeans—often punctuated by designer belt buckles from Gucci, Louis Vuitton or Fiorucci.
