Re-Matters Textile Recycling Solutions and COLOURizd Enter a Strategic Partnership

Re-Matters Textile Recycling Solutions is expanding its network of circular solutions.

The consultancy announced last week that it is partnering strategically with COLOURizd, the sustainable textile coloration technology firm. Re-Matters will promote QuantumCOLOUR, a technology that enables the coloring of recycled materials without the need for bleaching or color removal.

QuantumCOLOUR preserves the integrity of the fibers and enhances yarn properties, such as strength, reduced pilling, and decreased hairiness. The process uses just 1 liter of water per kilogram of yarn and produces zero wastewater.

“Our partnership with Re-Matters is a perfect match, bringing together two forward-thinking companies dedicated to sustainability,” said Jennifer Thompson, CEO of COLOURizd. “By integrating COLOURizd’s technology with Re-Matters’ focus on circular value streams, we can offer textile manufacturers a sustainable solution that reduces environmental impact and enhances the performance and quality of their products.”

The denim industry’s use of QuantumCOLOUR is growing. Last year, COLOURizd and Archroma joined forces, allowing mills and brands to combine Archroma’s dyes with QuantumCOLOUR to produce high-quality and high-performance textiles.

Cone Denim uses the technology for a collection of forest green selvedge fabrics. The dye technique results in significant reductions in resources including 98 percent water savings, 50 percent reduction in energy during the dyeing process, zero wastewater discharge, and 73 percent reduction in carbon footprint compared to reactive dye processes.

Established in 2023, Re-Matters leverages over 40 years of experience from their parent company, Ereks Blue Matters to offer engineering and consultancy services to the textile supply chain. The Turkish company assists organizations in minimizing their environmental footprint through tailored solutions that emphasize reduction, reuse, recycling, and regeneration.

“We are excited to partner with COLOURizd, whose innovative dyeing technology aligns perfectly with our mission to promote a circular textile economy,” said Romain Narcy, Re-Matters CEO. “With the current state of the world, taking action towards sustainability is not just an option, it’s a necessity.”
