Ksubi’s ‘Democrazy’ Drop Has No Rules and Raw Hems

Put politics aside this season, Ksubi suggests, and reengage the renegade spirit. The Australian denim label’s pre-fall 2025 collection, “Democrazy,” envisions a (fashion) world where rulebooks are tossed, buttons are pushed and rebellion reigns.

“We’re irreverent, infamous for doing things our own way and in our own time,” Ben Turner, Ksubi’s head of menswear, told Rivet of the inspiration behind the drop’s name. “For this collection we’re encouraging our krew [sic] to take on our renegade spirit, scrap the rules and forge their own path, and be unconventional.”

The Blank Canvas creator expanded its men’s outwear options, offering “luxe-rebellious” styles with versatile purposes, including reversible puffers and parkas, plus a leather jacket with a studded eagle ripped from the archives. Winter wardrobe staples are “diversified” with knitwear and long-sleeve options in the A$AP-endorsed brand’s “Ekcess” fit—identifiable by its tough feel and boxy look.

As for the denim pieces, Ksubi’s “renowned” styles are presented in seasonal washes: tinted indigo and mid-blue acid wash. Distressing and embroidery, custom monograms and secret artwork bring some signature grit to these classic pieces.

“Elements such as the artwork and custom monograms draw inspiration from Ksubi’s classic iconography and rebellious aesthetic to allow these pieces to feel distinctively Ksubi but, at the same time, offer newness and trend-focused details for our audience to get excited by,” Turner said. “Elements such as the detachable belts and art-behind-zippers enable our customers to put their own spin on the pieces and style as they see fit.”

The women’s collection gives classic denim the “Ksubi twist,” incorporating eyelet detailing and appliqué branding as well as emo-evoking studs and cheeky cuts. True to the streetwear brand’s rebellious roots, Ksubi “grungified” feminine fits by marrying punk graphics with lace slips and coating denim sets in black wax.

Of particular note this season is the “Baggy Jean,” Ksubi’s version of relaxed wide-leg jeans, rendered in rigid denim and heavyweight cotton with a detachable shoelace-style belt. The mid-rise, T-box branded jeans are offered in a light blue wash with side cutouts and a deep indigo wash option as well.

“Other denim pieces in the women’s offering, such as the Chroma jacket, jeans and bralette, have been given an edge with eyelet detailing,” Turner added.

Ksubi’s winter line is now available on the brand’s website and at flagship stores in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and London, as well as the label’s latest outposts in Sydney and Melbourne. The collection will also be up for grabs at select boutiques and department stores worldwide.

“I can’t wait to see how people style the collection, especially the standout pieces and new fits,” Turned said. “Our customers are great at putting their own spin on the clothes and wearing Ksubi in their own way.”
