From private dinners in trendy restaurant back rooms to the front row of jam-packed runway shows, New York Fashion Week was a hotbed for bold denim style. Influencers and celebrities alike turned out in exaggerated fits, statement pieces and nostalgic brands.
Frame’s model friends stepped out for its NYFW dinner party. Gisele Bündchen personified effortless chic in an oversized jean jacket-turned-dress with simple platform clogs. Others wore ’90s-style jeans with black “going-out tops.” Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Brooks Nader kept it casual as well, styling a white tank with wide-leg jeans, an unbuttoned denim shirt and a Hermès Kelly bag.
7 For All Mankind cohosted a dinner with Georgia May Jagger, the muse of its Fall/Winter 2023 campaign and cover star of “7 Magazine: London Edition,” the brand’s digital magazine. At Tommy Hilfiger’s brunch with Grammy Award-winning artist SZA, guests dressed in the brand’s nostalgic, logo-laden signatures. Oversized overalls were styled with the brand’s sports bras. Others turned down the waistband of their jeans to expose their Tommy Hilfiger boxer shorts. Plus-size influencer Remi Bader wore a customized denim miniskirt and cropped jacket, which she raved about on TikTok.
Katie Holmes, Imani Randall and Chloe Sevigny were among the tastemakers at Madewell’s runway show and dinner. They opted for cool-girl basics like black coated jeans, utility-inspired miniskirts and black maxi skirts. The pieces were styled with simple tops like white button-down shirts and tanks.
Highsnobiety’s event with Estee Lauder brought out a downtown aesthetic, with attendees wearing low-slung jeans, denim bustier tops and baggy jeans.
Fashion show attendees used their prime front row placements to flex some serious denim style as well. A mini dress adorned with a giant denim rosette, a denim kilt skirt with exposed pocket bags and pearl-embellished coordinates were some of the boldest looks.
