Shop Larroudé’s New Tote Bag Arrivals
Larroudé, founded by Brazilian husband-and-wife duo Ricardo and Marina Larroudé, went viral for its trend-aware, sustainably made footwear shortly after getting off the ground in 2020. And, amidst consistent new releases of the season’s most coveted shoe styles — from shearling-lined boat shoes to metallic-coated, low-pro sneakers — the Larroudés have just treated brand devotees to an all-new, quite unexpected product category. Tote bags.
In partnership with the Brazilian sailing brand Allca, which regularly deals with performance textiles lauded for their durability, the label unveiled its Americana and Poppy bag silhouettes. Americana is wider, more angular, and benefits from a removable handle drop for days when you want to carry all your tchotchkes hands-free. Larroudé unrolled this tote in a wide variety of styles to suit every aesthetic sensibility under the sun, whether you prefer a classy indigo stripe, love the interplay of ivory with brown, or want to tap into fall’s leopard-print obsession with Leopard Jacquard. There’s also Black Denim for the taking, which exudes an almost palpable mystique and will never overpower your fall outfits, letting them play starring roles instead (“pair it with relaxed denim and an oversized button-down for a quietly confident look,” Larroudé advises on its site).
We fell in love with the Americana tote bag line for many reasons, chief among which is the fact that it already comes with bag charms included. That’s right — no longer do you have to search for the ideal bag trinket, seeing as how each handy hauler features color-happy leather and rubber charms on an oversized key ring, whose glistening nature is complemented by that central “L” logo in black hardware.
Looking for something a tad bit smaller to take with you to the Cabo girls trip that finally made it out of the group chat? The Poppy Mini Tote Bag will be right up your alley then. No, it can’t hold a laptop like its Americana counterpart, but it’s capacious enough for everything that really matters when you’ve got those automatic “out of office” replies on: an indulgent read, your sunglasses case, sunscreen, and a digital cam for immortalizing the good old days.
Right away, you can tell that the Poppy is Americana’s spunkier, livelier younger sister, what with the bag’s vibrant stripes and thematic, handmade embroidery (hibiscus flowers and palm trees galore). Larroudé calls this new arrival “a burst of sunshine in bag form,” and we really can’t find a better way to describe it. Here to take you from the city stroll to the last-minute flight, the bag — offered in brown and blue, tulip-pink and emerald, or hot-pink and emerald — will do wonders when worn alongside breezy linen separates, denim dresses, and Larroudé’s own Verona New Macrame Flats in Burnt Umber Leather.
Looking for even more ways to style your fresh tote acquisitions (plural form, because we have a good feeling you didn’t get just one)? Below, some suggestions for getting the most out of the Americana and Poppy bags, whether you find yourself at your nine-to-five or somewhere warm, piña colada in hand.
