Delicate silk petals on a milky white knit or tufts of mink on a black cashmere coat added an edge to Fabiana Filippi’s signature discreet elegance. The designs emphasized the Italian brand’s expertise in the research of fabrics and its superior craftsmanship. One example was a cashmere coat that had a structure reminiscent of a technical scuba wetsuit. Another coat was made in shaved shearling that looked like astrakhan fur in a patchwork design with mink. A more traditional belted robe coat in double cashmere was reversible and incredibly soft. Velvet pants were roomy, with a shiny effect, and the volume of outerwear “was close to the body but did not define it,” said Mario Filippi Coccetta, president and chief executive officer of Fabiana Filippi, which is headquartered in Italy’s Umbria region. The color palette was soft, from ecru to olive green and slate. There were also men’s tailored jackets worn over shirts that had an air of Victorian romanticism.
