After announcing the doll in 2021, Mattel released a limited-edition Celia Cruz Barbie in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month on Tuesday. Retailing for $35, it’s now sold out on the Barbie Signature website, although it’s still available at Amazon and select retailers.
Cruz, who was known as the “Queen of Salsa,” is one of the bestselling Latin music artists in history. She appeared in several films, including 1957’s “Affair in Havana” and “Amorcito Corazón” (1960). After leaving her native Cuba for Mexico, and later, the U.S., Cruz’s music career took off in the ’70s.

Her blond hair is styled in an updo with bangs, while her face is painted with red lipstick and glittery gold eye shadow.
