Nicki Minaj opted for a monochromatic look that aligned with the sheer trend while appearing on Wednesday’s episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” donning a body-con Alaïa dress.
The rapper’s woven maxidress featured a nude-baring top and a ruched skirt with an asymmetric hem. For accessories, Minaj embraced logomania in a Chanel headscarf with rainbow lettering along with a silver Saint Laurent arm cuff.
Minaj is just one of the many celebrities who have embraced the sheer trend throughout 2023. The style statement often incorporates mesh fabric, chain-mail detail and lace. Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga and Ciara are among the other stars who have gone sheer on red carpets and other high-profile events.

Regarding new music, Minaj released her fifth studio album “Pink Friday 2” on Dec. 8 (her birthday). The project, which marks her first studio album in the past five years, is a sequel to her 2010 debut album “Pink Friday.”
On the show, Minaj spoke with Colbert about the process of creating the new album, her Christmas plans and her son, whom she gave birth to in 2020.
On the biggest surprise of being a first-time mom, Minaj said, “My life was so selfish before he came here.
“There’s this thing that happens every day when I see his face, which is more than anything money can buy in the world,” she said. “So I’m really happy I pushed him out.”
Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2” world tour begins in March, with shows in New York, London, Berlin and more.
