With a burnt orange hue kissing her cheekbones and a brown-mauve shade dressing her eyelids, Jennifer Lopez looked ahead to the forthcoming cool-weather season at the 25th anniversary Young Eisner Scholars Gala in Bel Air, Calif., on Thursday. The 56-year-old actress and performer stepped out to celebrate the annual event honoring high-achieving students from low-income neighborhoods, dressing in the amber-toned aesthetic created by makeup artist Ernesto Casillas.
Lopez’s dark brown eyebrows were lightly filled in, arching over the shimmery, peach-colored shadow applied to the top of her eyes. Her lashes appeared like spider legs, tickling just underneath her brow bone. Meanwhile, glitter shadow spilled under her eyes, filling in her waterline next to a brown eyeliner with hints of gold. The point of her nose was dressed in a translucent hue, catching the light as it hit her. For Lopez’s lips, Casillas dipped into a palette of mauves, browns and pinks, lining the outer edges of her mouth with the darker shades before using a glossy nude to fill in the space.

Though the ultra-bronzy look is often reserved for summer, Casillas worked with Lopez to make the warm aesthetic fall-appropriate, layering an orange blush with a rosy pink alternative to create an amber tone associated with the start of “spooky season.” Her nails, designed by celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik, followed predicted fall trends with a milky pink base and a short cut.
Lorenzo Martin, hairstylist to Heidi Klum and Carrie Underwood, kept Lopez’s long caramel-colored hair straight with honey-toned highlights falling from her roots near her hairline. Martin has been working with the on-stage star during her “Up All Night” tour stops and on the set of her new music video for her song, “Birthday.”
The finishing touch on Lopez’s gala style was her floor-length, halter-neck floral gown by Roberto Cavalli. Her two stylists, Mariel Haenn and Rob Zangardi, teamed up to help select and accessorize the gown, with a pink clutch and gold jewelry.
