Red Sea International Film Festival 2024 Opening Ceremony: Eva Longoria, Emily Blunt and More [PHOTOS]

Marking the beginning of its fourth edition, the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) 2024 had its opening ceremony on Thursday in the historic Al-Balad district of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Eva Longoria, Will Smith, Emily Blunt, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh and more stars walked the event’s red carpet, showcasing glamorous outfits from Balenciaga, Carolina Herrera and other luxury brands.

The festival will be held through Dec. 14 in the new Cultural Square venue in the Al-Balad district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The space, built in the traditional Al-Balad style, features five cinemas and an auditorium, where the festival’s screenings and premieres will be hosted.

Over 120 films from 81 countries will be featured in this year’s festival. Academy Award-winning filmmaker Spike Lee will head the jury for the features competition.

The Red Sea International Film Festival has the goal of establishing a solid foundation for the film industry in Saudi Arabia and promoting new storytelling trends and emerging talents from the region and the Global South.
