Cher gave a design by Luis De Javier the custom treatment for her look at the 2026 Grammy Awards on Sunday night. The singer and actress was the recipient of the 2026 Grammys Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring the “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer‘s decades-long career in music.
For the awards show, the multi-hyphenate talent wore a bespoke iteration of a look from the Spanish designer’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. Cher wore a leather bandage dress with deconstructed styling and cutouts between the fabric bands, revealing a color-coordinated lace catsuit underneath.

The design Cher’s 2026 Grammys look was based on made its runway debut in September 2024 as part of Paris Fashion Week. The show and collection were, per Rhonda Richford’s WWD review of the collection, “an homage to Cristóbal Balenciaga and his home country of Spain.”
“Embroidered matador boleros topped lace leggings and thigh-high stockings, while traditional montera hats were modernized with a Nike swoop and finished with fringe,” Richford wrote of the dominantly black and white color-palletted collection.
“Strips of leather mimicked a skirt and lace trousers rested well below hip bones and whale tales, surpassing even Y2K standards. Some models gripped bubble skirts at the waist. Much of the collection was barely there, then de Javier quickly contradicted himself with voluminous capes, explosions of tulle and draped silk jersey dresses that completely covered the body.”
