Nike has readied new versions of its timeless Air Force 1 sneaker which raise the bar significantly for premium construction.
Releasing soon are two upcoming made-in-Italy Air Force 1 Lows in black and College Gray colorways. Each pair features matching mixed-material builds but are offered in contrasting tonal looks.
Beginning with a glossy patent leather toe, the Air Force 1s shift to a smooth, premium leather quarter panel with a stamped Swoosh logo and three perforation holes. The back of the shoe then shifts to a reptilian texture with croc embossing throughout the rear. A flat leather heel tab with perforated “Air” branding adds further textural contrast, and a leather insole completes the premium build. The black pair features a standard rubber midsole and outsole, while the white version opts for a translucent appearance.

The premium execution of these upcoming Air Force 1s will command a considerably higher-than-usual retail price tag. Each colorway is set to retail for $600 and will be available exclusively in women’s sizing. Furthermore, both styles will be extremely limited, with just 800 pairs produced of each look.
This isn’t the first time Nike has released premium, Italian-made Air Force 1 sneakers. The brand released several Lux Air Force 1s in the 2000s including a crocodile iteration in 2007, which famously retailed for $2,000.
The Air Force 1 isn’t the only classic sneaker from the Nike, Inc. archive that will soon receive a premium upgrade. While not made in Italy, the Air Jordan 6 will soon revive Jordan Brand’s Bin 23 line, which will also see premium versions of the Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 8 in 2026.
An exact launch date for these upcoming Nike Air Force 1 MIT SP1 sneakers has not been confirmed, but the pairs are both expected to be released during spring ’26.
