The New York Knicks completed a second-round sweep against the Philadelphia 76ers Sunday afternoon, and Nike was ready for the occasion with a team-themed sneaker available in just one New York City store.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Prm Knicks gives the sneaker a premium build in the squad’s orange and blue. Bright orange tumbled leather is used for the majority of the upper, with the exception of a blue mustache and Swoosh and white tongue. Contrast stitching is used throughout, and Nike’s NYC logo graces the tongue patch and mustache, as well as the metal lace dubrae. A tiny blue Swoosh can be found at the bottom of the eyestay, and a white midsole sits above a gum outsole to round out the treatment.
To announce the shoe’s release, Nike partnered with @sidetalknyc, the Instagram account known for capturing the hysteria of Knicks fans outside Madison Square Garden and the source of the “bing bong” exclamation. A promotional video features fans shouting about the sneakers just as they would for any Knicks accomplishment.
