MLB All-Star Week is headed to Atlanta this weekend, and a super-limited Nike sneaker will drop among the festivities to acknowledge athlete Deion Sanders.
The Nike Air Diamond Turf Proto ’92 “Braves” sees Sanders’ first signature sneaker take on slight alterations pulled from the prototype. Draped in black, red and white, which would technically match the Atlanta Falcons better than the Atlanta Braves (both of whom Sanders played for simultaneously), the sneaker will release with just 500 pairs going on sale at the local boutique Walter’s.

Sanders’ prototype-based sneaker made its debut this spring and is primarily differentiated by the Swoosh moving from the top of the strap on the Air Diamond Turf to the lateral side above the mesh window. “Nike” text takes over in the Swoosh’s previous spot, and Primetime’s dual-sport logo is added to the heel pull in simplified form in addition to its usual placement on the tongue.

Otherwise, the Proto ’92 is just like the original Air Diamond Turf, and this colorway can be seen like an inversion of the original “Falcons” colorway from 1993, which just released again in January. Gold embroidery forms the Nike Air branding on the mustache, matching the strap’s mesh window and emphasizing the exclusiveness of this particular variant.
Since Sanders returned to Nike to end a decades-long separation in 2023, his releases have centered upon his first and third models, the Air Diamond Turf and Air DT Max 96. His second sneaker, however, the Air Diamond Turf 2, will reportedly come back in 2026 for the first time since 2012.
In the period in which Sanders was away from Nike, the brand continued to release his sneakers, but without many of the marks that denoted the athlete they were originally made for.
The Nike Air Diamond Turf Proto ’92 “Braves” will release on Friday exclusively through Walter’s in Atlanta. Pricing is set at $150.
