New Balance’s popular low-profile 204L sneaker is getting a new look to kick off April.
Rather than the recent scalloped edge and ribbon lace-equipped versions of the model, the upcoming style reverts back to a more standard mesh-and-suede construction. Presented in a classic New Balance gray Raincloud shade, the pair is accented with navy blue branding on its heel and lateral logos and includes a pre-yellowed Ash Wood midsole.

The 204L was introduced at retail in July 2025 on the heels of New Balance’s popular 530 SL collaboration with Miu Miu. The pairs feature comparable silhouettes, materials and colorways, but the 204L comes at a far more palatable price than the Miu Miu collaboration, which retails at $1,250. This allowed far more consumers to get in on the trending look than before and the 204L has remained popular in the saturated low-profile sneaker space.

While many of New Balance’s most popular sneakers are reissues of the brand’s classic models, the Boston-based sportswear company has also found success with several of its newly introduced lifestyle models including the 204L, the Abzorb 2000 and the Abzorb 2010. Many of the shoes feature cues and references to archive New Balance designs, but have been updated with more modernized details and technology.
