The Crocs x ‘Twilight’ Collaboration Sells Out Quickly, Leaving Fans Upset

The collection dropped on Nov. 18.

Fans are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the “Twilight” book series, and Crocs joined in the fun by launching a collaboration inspired by the movies, which were released 17 years ago. While the clogs and the rest of the Twilight Collection dropped on Tuesday, only the Jibbitz are still available for sale, leaving some fans upset that they couldn’t get their hands on the vampire-inspired shoes.

Crocs announced the collection on Instagram on Nov. 12, and fans of the franchise were quick to flood the comments section with excitement about the collaboration. The brand even tapped Ashley Greene, who starred in the film as Alice Cullen, for the campaign.

The collection offered two footwear styles, including the Twilight Saga Classic clog, which retailed for $75. The shoes featured a teal blue upper and design elements like a Pacific Northwest treescape, separate heel-cup portraits of Edward Cullen and Jacob Black.

The other was The Twilight Saga Classic Platform clog, which retailed for $90, and featured a gray upper with a sparkly design and floral accents on the heel strap. A decorative silver chain with charms inspired by motifs fans will recognize from the movies hangs on the side of the shoe, while a portrait of Edward and Bella Swan sits on the opposite side.

The collection included some fun, heart-shaped Jibbitz, representing the teams fans of the franchise were part of, including the Twilight Saga Team Charlie in red and white, the Twilight Saga Team Jacob in brown and beige, the Twilight Saga Team Edward in a sparkly white and blue, and the Twilight Saga Team Carlisle in black and blue. All four are still available on the Crocs website.

The clogs, however, sold out shortly after release, leaving many “Twilight” fans without a pair even after they said they signed up for notifications to alert them of the drop. Fans took to social media to share their experience with the release.

“As a huge Crocs fan and a ‘Twilight’ fan. I am so disappointed in how this release was handled,” one fan commented on Instagram, adding that fans weren’t given any notice that they were available for purchase. Some are complaining that now the only way to get the clogs is to pay more for them on eBay or another reseller.

One fan claimed that they messaged Crocs’ support, and they received a response saying that the release was on hold, which is why it appears as out of stock. The fan shared that in the response, the company said it didn’t have a specific timeframe for when it will be available again.
