Taraji P. Henson brought a burst of sunshine to the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, attending the premiere of “The History of Sound” in a strapless butter yellow gown from Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2025 collection. The floor-length dress featured delicate floral embellishments and a voluminous tulle skirt, complemented by gold Giuseppe Zanotti heeled sandals.

Close‑up, the bodice revealed sculptural floral appliqués — three‑dimensional petals outlined in tonal stitching — each petal punctuating the otherwise smooth canvas of the gown. At the waist, a seam gave way to billowing layers of tulle that held structure without feeling weighed down.

For footwear, Henson wore Giuseppe Zanotti’s Itriigo Strap pointed open‑toe sandals in glossy gold patent. The slender four‑inch stiletto and delicate ankle strap — secured by a matching gold buckle — reinforced the look’s streamlined feel while lifting the hem just enough to show off the fine mesh of the tulle.

As for her glam, hairstylist Tym Wallace styled her hair into a sleek, side-parted bob. Makeup artist Saisha Beecham applied a radiant, dewy base with subtle highlights on the cheekbones, soft taupe eye shadow and a nude lip, giving Henson a subtle glow and letting the dress and shoes be the focal point of the look.

Monochrome dressing has become a signature for Henson. At the 2024 BET Awards, she wore a custom Balmain column gown featuring chain-link straps, fringe panels and rhinestones. Earlier in Cannes, she embraced Western-inspired style at the Kering Women in Motion event in a Golden Goose matching set with cowboy boots.

In February, Giuseppe Zanotti quietly took back full ownership of his eponymous label by repurchasing the 30 percent stake formerly held by investment firm L Catterton. The group, initially involved in 2014 under the name L Capital Management, had been a minority partner for more than 10 years. Through it all, Zanotti maintained majority control, ensuring his signature sky-high stilettos and crystal details stayed firmly under the founder’s direction.

“I’m grateful to L Catterton for their support and collaboration over the years. This is both a return to my roots and a step toward the future, allowing the brand to shape its long-term growth with complete independence,” Zanotti previously told WWD. “Fashion is about freedom and creativity — I’m excited to lead this next phase with the same energy, dedication and passion as always.”
