Kirsten Dunst arrived in a head-to-toe Valentino spring 2026 look for the fashion house’s haute couture show on Wednesday. The “Civil War” star strutted into the show in a pair of snake-embellished mules, which were from the brand’s ready-to-wear collection.
The heels featured a sharply pointed toe and a bright red insole. The mule sandals design left the back and front of the foot exposed, while a wide black strap held the foot in place. The strap features cutouts at the bottom, creating a heart-shaped design around the toe area.
The shoes are made from soft black leather and feature a tall, thin and tapered stiletto heel measuring around four inches. The heels are decorated with a crystal-embellished snake on the vamp, with the head surpassing the shoe and resting on top of the actress’s foot.

The shoes made their debut in October on the runway for the spring 2026 collection Fireflies by the fashion house’s creative director Alessandro Michele. The collection was inspired after Michele came across a letter written by Pier Paolo Pasolini during World War II, in which he described the joy of seeing fireflies. That inspired the designer to attempt to recapture the magic he felt as a young designer.
Dunst paired the mules with a long sleeve minidress in a powder blue, also from the spring 2026 Valentino ready-to-wear collection. The dress featured a ruching detail at the front, which connected at the center of the dress and decorated with two bows at the neckline and at the hem.
Mules have been trending lately with minimalist styles appearing on various runways and as part of recent collections for brands like Saint Laurent and Victoria Beckham. Celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez have been gravitating toward the backless shoe design from brands like Jude, Black Suede Studio, Santoni, and Paris Texas, pairing them with minidresses, jeans, gowns, and more.
