Awake is paying homage to the world of cinema with its newest project, titled “A Tribute to the Seventh Art.” To start, the brand is releasing a limited edition of two Sơn Mài Silver Leaf watches inspired by Steven Spielberg‘s 1993 film, “Jurassic Park.”
The watches nod to two of the scariest predators in the film: the T-rex and the velociraptors. They feature handmade dials with unique colors inspired by the prehistoric animals. They are wrapped in BGW9 Super-LumiNova, assembled in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and come with straps made of scaled salmon leather from Ictyos, creating a reptilian texture.

The T-rex version features a gradient fire-orange dial. Above the hour-marker at 6 o’clock, there’s an appliqué representing two claws, nodding to the T-rex’s forelimbs. The Raptors version features a dial in multiple shades of green, this time with three claw marks, reminiscent of the velociraptors’ forelegs.
Awake will only sell 50 boxes of each style, featuring different quotes from the movie. In one of the 100 boxes, there will be a real Carcharodontosaurus tooth accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The Carcharodontosaurus dominated North Africa between 93 million and 100 million years ago, and is known as one of the biggest predators ever recorded.
“An exceptional object that will undoubtedly allow its future owner to experience the pleasure and reminiscence of this very special series,” Lilian Thibault, founder of Awake, said in a statement.
The watches will retail for 2,075 euros, approximately $2,356, at awakewatches.com.
