Lectra, a product lifecycle management and cutting machinery company announced its next phase of holistic services with its Modaris 3-D technology. Partnering with prêt-à-porter brand Cache Cache, Modaris 3-D promotes cohesive communication among subcontractors and interactive product development.
As consumer patience dwindles in the face of the advent of see-now-buy-now and seasonless collections, brands are charged with doling out fresh inventory at accelerated rates. Supply chains are stressed under the weight of the hurtling pace of demands, heightening the need for software and manufacturing that’s capable for product development and design teams to visualize items as accurately as possible.
Modaris 3-D aims to just this — Cache Cache originally deployed the software for its dress designs. “We are leveraging Modaris 3-D to react rapidly to evolving demand. With this solution, our stylists and product managers can easily make choices, organized around the same screen, based on prototypes developed in 3-D. The decision-making process starts as early as possible and is much quicker,” said Camille Dupont, director for offer at Cache Cache.

Additionally, the updated solutions will underscore improved communication between in-house departments and subcontractors. “Cache Cache subcontracts manufacturing to a vast network of suppliers,” said Karen Elalouf, managing director, Lectra France. “By replacing a portion of the physical prototypes with virtual prototypes, Lectra’s 3-D technology will simplify the exchanges between the design office and subcontractors, generating many advantages including saving time, savings on materials and reducing stocks.”
A subsidiary of Groupe Beaumanoir, Cache Cache has nearly 1,600 global store locations. Groupe Beaumanoir also includes Bonobo, Bréal and Scottage. Collectively, the company reported a profit of 1.4 billion euros in 2015. The group has been a Lectra customer for approximately 15 years.
