PARIS — Kering has appointed Roberto Vedovotto as a new member of its executive committee.
Vedovotto, who joined the French group in 2013, currently serves as chief executive officer of Kering Eyewear, where he leads an initiative aimed at building an in-house eyewear platform for the group’s luxury, sport and lifestyle brands, including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Puma and Stella McCartney.
François-Henri Pinault, chairman and chief executive officer of Kering, characterized Vedovotto’s appointment as “a step further in the development of a more integrated and specialized group, whose main objective is to support the brands so that they fulfill their growth potential. Roberto’s expertise in the eyewear industry and his knowledge of the fashion and luxury world will provide a valuable contribution to our executive committee, for the group and our brands.”
Last September, Kering unveiled plans to bring eyewear development and production fully in-house, forecasting that the segment could generate revenues of 600 million euros, or $684 million, by 2020.
