NEW YORK — Beth Gold Cohen, 60, founder of Lyssé, a popular ready-to-wear brand best known for its leggings, died November 12. The cause of death was breast cancer.
Cohen, who was devoted and proud to have formed a business by women for women, started her company in 2009 in Roslyn, N.Y. It is currently headquartered and operated in the garment district.
The Lyssé brand is sold in approximately 2,000 better specialty retailers in North America, Canada, Australia and Europe and has a reported $20 million in sales.
Cohen was a tireless contributor to various community projects and philanthropic endeavors including the Children’s Medical Fund.
In her private time, Cohen also served as a counselor to many women suffering from breast cancer.
Cohen is survived by her husband, Mark and two daughters, Chelsey Cohen and Jessica Benvenisty.
