British fragrance manufacturer and distributor Designer Parfums has named Ruth Newton Jones director of strategy and business development at the company, a new position.
Newton Jones, who in the past has served as managing director for LVMH Perfumes and Cosmetics in the U.K. and Ireland, will be responsible for establishing and growing Designer Parfums as an “influential, international branded fragrance business,” along with adding new brands to its portfolio, the company said.
Among the brands that Designer Parfums either owns or operates the fragrance license for are Agent Provocateur, Jean Patou and Worth.
Newton Jones, who most recently served as managing director for Delbanco Meyer, a firm that develops home textile products for retailers, will report to Dilesh Mehta, managing director of Shaneel Enterprises Ltd., Designer Parfums’ parent company. Newton Jones has already begun her role at the company.
