NEW YORK — Julie Dimperio has joined VF Sportswear Inc., a subsidiary of VF Corp., as president of Nautica women’s sportswear and Kipling North America wholesale, a new position.
Dimperio is responsible for the launch of Nautica’s better women’s sportswear as well as growth strategies for Nautica’s women’s line and the Kipling North America brand. She will oversee the day-to-day operations, including marketing, sales, merchandising, design and strategy.
Dimperio reports to Denise Seegal, president and chief executive officer of the Nautica and Kipling brands.
“Julie has a very strong background in the women’s market and great experience with building businesses,” Seegal said. “She’s very talented, understands the industry and is great working with creative people as well as executives on the business end. She’s a very talented leader, and we are happy to have her on board for both Nautica and Kipling.”

She began as the vice president and general manager of the company’s Kohl’s and Wal-Mart businesses, and was promoted to president of special markets in charge of the general management of Crazy Horse, Tint, First Issue and men’s special markets brands. During her tenure, she was responsible for significant brand growth and for adding a new group of labels to the portfolio.
Before that, Dimperio was senior vice president of international women’s apparel at the Hartmarx Corp. During her 12 years there, she oversaw sales, design and merchandising for Austen Reed women’s apparel domestically.
