Lié Studio, the Danish accessories brand founded by twin models Amalie and Cecilie Moosgard, is launching a jewelry capsule exclusively for Moda Operandi.
It centers around a pair of button earrings belonging to the sisters’ grandmother, which they ironically found in her sewing kit next to actual buttons. “It became more than just an earring. It became a design code that ties the entire collection together,” Amalie said.
Aptly, the earrings were named Coco, though not after Coco Chanel who was known to sport similar styles, but eschewing the designer’s much beloved pearls, the Moosgards opted for cooler black onyx in the center. They also expanded upon their oval shape to include a pendant choker, drop earrings, a bracelet and band rings as well.
“It’s really about the balance between two contrasting materials,” Amalie explained, noting the use of ridged silver- and gold-plated frames inspired by a vintage 1970s Cartier watch Cecilie picked up during her travels in Japan. “The black onyx gives a sleek and elegant finish, which we found to be a perfect fit for Moda Operandi,” she added.

The capsule collection ranges from $180 to $415, and will be available on Moda Operandi, lie-studio.com and at the brand’s Copenhagen boutique starting Thursday.
Founded in 2021, Lié Studio has since added bags and belts to its range of contemporary minimalist jewelry inspired by the Moosgards’ family heirlooms. The brand now counts 130 stockists worldwide, but Moda was the first to introduce it via its trunk show program in the U.S., which remains its largest market to date.
“We’ve always had such a great relationship with Moda and their team,” Cecilie said. “They have always had valuable insights and given great feedback, which has been rewarding for us as a growing company.”
Ryan Kleman, director of buying and accessories for the retailer, pointed out that, “Serendipitously, the capsule coincides on the two-year anniversary of our partnership.”
“Lié Studio’s product instantly connected with the Moda client,” he continued, “bold yet refined, with an attitude that you’ll wear it forever.”
