Acne Studios Teams With Temera On Traceability Solution

Swedish fashion house Acne Studios has made moves to improve its supply chain transparency by partnering with traceability specialist Temera. The collaboration launched with the development of a digital product passport (DPP) system, which has gone live for a number of the fashion brand’s product categories.

All of the pieces from Acne Studios’ FW25 collection onward will feature a QR code placed on labels and care cards that allows consumers to easily access the product’s DPP. The DPP will provide verified information on each specific product’s raw materials, sustainability credentials, supply chain information, product traceability and care instructions. The DPPs are available in English, French, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Traditional Chinese, and include additional details on packaging, social responsibility and B Corp certification.

With sustainability legislation such as France’s AGEC law, which is focused on reducing waste and promoting a circular economy, as well as European Union regulations requiring the use of DPPs, brands are under greater pressure to improve their sustainability and the traceability of those practices.

Temera has worked with a spate of luxury brands such as LVMH, Prada Group, Moncler, Ferragamo and others to collect information and track their products throughout the supply chain and their lifespan. The Italian technology company, which is owned by Beontag, taps into IoT and blockchain technologies to provide a suite of traceability solutions supported by Blue Bite’s front-end DPP Experience Studio.

Last fall, Temera partnered with Lindbergh—a group active in a number of sectors around the globe, including waste management and digital tracking—to launch the ReGenesis Protocol. The initiative focused on developing, novel, GPS-enabled supply chains for recycled and up-cycled materials in the luxury fashion category.

With this latest partnership with Acne Studios, Temera sees the DPP as a viable solution for the luxury market not only for improving sustainability and circularity, but also remaining compliant with changing environmental policies.

“We are always excited to work with an ambitious and sustainability-focused brand like Acne Studios,” said Francesco Pieri, managing director, Tamera. “Since the start of our discussions, they appreciated the advantage and importance of getting ahead of upcoming regulations, as well as the potential to strengthen customer trust through DPPs. I’m looking forward to seeing this partnership develop with new and innovative solutions along the way.”
