Wrangler and Chaco Debut Apparel and Footwear Collection

A new collaboration places Wrangler front and center with outdoor enthusiasts.

On Thursday, the Kontoor Brands-owned denim label launched a collection with Chaco, the Wolverine Worldwide-owned outdoor sandal brand.

The collection combines Wrangler’s 75-year heritage of durable American apparel with Chaco’s outdoor performance expertise to offer versatile pieces built for longevity and adventure.

Holly Wheeler, Kontoor VP of global marketing, said the company is thrilled to partner with Chaco and merge their worlds.

“Chaco is an ideal partner due to our shared focus on durability, brand loyalty, and authentic adventure,” she told SJ Denim. “While the introduction of our All Terrain Gear (ATG) line in 2019 brought Wrangler into the outdoor market, Chaco’s undisputed credibility in the market lends itself to Wrangler’s growth strategy, helping Wrangler reach the established outdoor/hiking enthusiast who already trusts Chaco, while introducing Chaco’s audience to Wrangler’s technical apparel side.”

The Wrangler x Chaco collection features four unique shirts rooted in Wrangler’s DNA of durability and functionality—boasting technical details like hidden zippered pockets, utility loops, and vented backs— alongside Chaco’s legendary footwear, reimagined with staple Wrangler prints and denim.

“It’s a celebration of heritage, performance, and the Great Outdoors,” Wheeler added.

Tops include a 100 percent cotton long-sleeved denim shirt in a relaxed-fit mid wash, an Aztec print pocket tee, and two breathable long‐sleeve performance shirts in Wrangler’s Checotah print and Brushpopper Stripe.

Chaco’s signature Z/sandals, which feature webbing straps that wrap the foot for a customized fit, are featured prominently in the collection. The Mega Z Classic has a 3.0 mm lug outsole for no‐slip traction and all-day comfort. The Z/1 Classic Sandal has ‘47 Dark Wash—a nod to Wrangler’s founding year—features upper-polyester jacquard webbing. A light brown suede clog with a large buckle and Western-inspired stitching rounds out the collection.

“By pairing our deep-rooted Western heritage with Chaco’s spirit of adventure, we’ve created a collection that is comfortable in every landscape,” Wheeler said.

It is also a reflection on how Wrangler consumers dress.

“We’ve definitely seen that customers like a head-to-toe look,” Wheeler said. “In our core collections, we have been offering a lot of sets the past few seasons that have performed well. So it’s no surprise to us that when we release a footwear collaboration, our consumers are thrilled to be able to get that complete look. Apparel and footwear so often go hand-in-hand, and we are happy that we are able to offer our consumers both with these collections.”

Wrangler is increasingly dipping its toes into the footwear category. Last month the brand launched a collection with Dr. Scholl’s. It also has a licensing deal with Genesco for men’s, women’s and children’s footwear.

“Our community lives in their Chacos—they travel in them, camp in them, and make memories in them,” said Rose Fulbright, Chaco marketing director. “Partnering with Wrangler allowed us to blend our river‐born performance with iconic Western style, creating a collection that’s ready for long days, open landscapes, and wherever the adventure leads.”

The collection is available on both brands’ websites. Prices range from $39.99 for a T-shirt to $150 for suede clogs.
