Saitex is applying the benefits of being a vertical denim manufacturer to positive use for its Los Angeles neighbors.
This week the Vietnam-based vertical denim manufacturer, which opened a factory in L.A. in 2021, launched Forever L.A., a 28-piece capsule made possible through product donations from brands including Save Khaki, Edwin USA and Atelier & Repair.
The collection features upcycled jeans, fatigue pants, cargo jackets, button-down shirts, tees and more from the brands. Each piece is adorned with a special patch combining the “L.A.” acronym and the California poppy, a symbol of resilience and beauty. The collection retails for $39-$79.
All proceeds from the collection will directly support wildfire relief efforts, going to organizations including the American Red Cross, Southern California Emergency Network, LA Regional Food Bank, California Fire Foundation, and World Central Kitchen.
Forever L.A. is the first product of a new eponymous purpose-driven platform the manufacturer is launching this year. Saitex will focus on upcycling and providing innovative design solutions to local and global issues through thoughtfully and intentionally created products. The products will be available on Saitex’s newly launched e-commerce site.
“After a year in development, the platform’s launch underscores Saitex’s ongoing mission to create meaningful change, set the standard for ethical production, and to reduce water, energy, and chemical usage in the manufacturing process,” the company stated.
Moving forward, future Saitex drops will benefit planet-centered initiatives with at least 10 percent of proceeds going to supporting organizations. Saitex added that additional contributions will be deployed to meet the most urgent needs of communities in need of relief and support.
“The launch of Forever L.A. reinforces Saitex’s commitment to intentional creation and human-centered causes, addressing the impacts of climate change while highlighting the importance of crafting premium products with purpose. Saitex continues to lead by example in showcasing ways that business can be a powerful force for good and a more sustainable future,” the B Corp company stated.
