Rudolf aims to innovate in-demand solutions for the textile industry.
The German specialty chemicals manufacturer launched this week the Digital Pigment Printing Toolbox, a package of pre-treatment products to further enhance the quality of pigment printing.
In addition to the technology’s ability to create popular trompe-l’œil effects, part of digital pigment printing’s appeal is its efficiency. Rudolf pointed out that it has an advantage over other printing technologies because it eliminates the post-treatment step, which means that water required for post-treatment can be saved. Digital pigment printing also offers flexibility, as designs can be easily adapted, and applied to all types of fibers.
With the new toolbox for digital printing, Rudolf offer customers a flexible and customizable solution that combines quality with sustainability. The pre-treatments achieve brilliant colors and enhance the hand feel of fabrics with minimal resource consumption.
All products in the toolbox are free from formaldehyde and butanone oxime. In addition, the core product and some combination products are completely free of blocking agents. The products offer different effects such as improved rub fastness, color enhancement and soft touch. The products can be applied to the textile according to the requirements of the specific effect.
The toolbox is based on a core product, RUCO-Print PXS, which can be combined with any other product in the toolbox to create a tailor-made pretreatment with a variety of effects, Rudolf stated. The different products can be blended in a single bath, making it quick and easy to use.
Rudolf noted that the toolbox paves the way for future developments in digital pigment printing with a focus on expanding capabilities.
“Our goal at Rudolf is to take digital print to the next level—making it more efficient, environmentally friendly and optimizable for a wide range of customer requirements,” said Dr. Christoph Hauser, Rudolf product developer.
