partnership

Although the Northern Hemisphere is starting to feel the chill of fall, the fashion industry is already looking toward warmer weather.

Turkish denim manufacturer Orta Anadolu’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, The Tourist, is designed for modern travelers, dedicated to those seeking effortless style with function in a world where lines between work and adventure are blurred. Inspired by today’s adventure-seekers who navigate both crowded cities and quiet beaches effortlessly without compromising their elegance, Orta created carefree denim that adapts to any mood and environment.

“Humanity, transparency and sustainability inform our choices for healing, calming and versatile products; engineered with regenerative systems and footprint,” said Sebla Onder, marketing and sustainability manager at Orta. “This summer, recharge yourself and the planet with regenerative choices; products made to be used for longer and then circulated.”

The Tourist collection takes consumers on a global tour of France, Japan and America, with denim for three destinations: St. Tropez, Kyoto and New York City in summer.

Saint Tropez

Nestled on the French Riviera, Saint Tropez is a dreamy blend of glamour, playfulness and timeless beauty. Its sun-drenched shores and azure waters offer effortless elegance, turning every day into a celebration of life’s finest pleasures. Saint Tropez has had a profound influence on fashion too, becoming synonymous with a chic effortless style that blends luxury with a laid-back coastal vibe.

The color story within Orta’s St. Tropez group was inspired by the colors of the French Riviera—azure blues that match the waves and browns reflecting the sunny sand of Le Club 55, the famous beach club at St. Tropez since the ‘50s—and is for playful yet minimal attire. As a continuum of the quiet luxury trend, the fabric group St. Tropez consists of a new take on the French maritime tradition of navy stripes, lightweight and breathable denim polished with the look and touch of sateen, reflecting the aspirational lifestyles of effortless chic, beach dining and entertainment.

Kyoto

The Kyoto group is for the tourist who appreciates a slower pace, nature and tranquility. Wandering through Kyoto’s serene gardens reveals the subtle beauty of nature’s imperfections. The Kyoto fabrics are all about constructions paired with a Japanese aesthetic and perfectionism. Multi-slub cross-hatch denim with green cast colors, short slubs, tightly woven jelt denim, broken twill and French linen blends for summer wear are for the consumers that appreciate craftsmanship, quality, durability and long-term investment pieces.

New York City

In the heat of summer, New York City becomes a place of irresistible allure and vibrant energy. The city’s pulse quickens as rooftop bars buzz with laughter and live music fills the air from intimate lounges. As the sun sets, New York invites spontaneous adventures, from moonlit strolls in Central Park to late-night escapades in chic speakeasies. To stay cool in the summer heat, opt for looser fits, drapey fabrics and soft, breathable fibers. This fabric family is composed of clean twills and slow spun cotton for a soft natural feel, as well as soft finishes, lightweight barely-there fabrics and natural comfort chinos. These are all 100 percent cotton fabrics, with no elastane or PES, offering a comfort level of stretch for a circular future.

Sustainable Stretch

With this collection, Orta is also presenting a small innovative capsule family. As part of its regenerative denim movement, the mill coupled regenerative cotton with the new bio-derived LYCRA® fiber to achieve a long-lasting high-quality fabric made with responsible materials.

Developed by The LYCRA Company, bio-derived LYCRA® is the world’s first renewable spandex available on a large scale. As part of its decarbonization strategy, The LYCRA Company is committed to transitioning to renewable resources, hence it developed bio-derived LYCRA® in collaboration with Qore® to source QIRA® Bio-derived BDO. BDOs constitutes approximately 70 percent of LYCRA® fiber. QIRA® is the next-generation BDO made from annually renewable field—or industrial—corn instead of finite, fossil-based materials. This bio-derived BDO is also made from U.S. corn grown in Iowa that is rain-fed and cultivated predominantly on wind-powered farms, helping construct a better future for bio-derived materials.

“At Orta, it is in our DNA to constantly search for innovative solutions for a better future of denim, and our collaboration with Lycra furthers our commitment to the regenerative movement by supporting longevity, regeneration and circulation,” said Oktay Okuroglu, sales and marketing director at Orta. “As the first and only mill in our region to adopt this innovation, we see it as an optimistic path towards the reinvention of net-positive denim, which strengthens our handprint mission to use less to create more—more value, more performance and a greater abundance of goodness.”
