Daniel Pallas and Véronique Bousquet threw open the doors to their Parisian apartment for the presentation of their latest collection. Guests sipped Champagne and feasted on stuffed roasted portabello mushrooms and beef boulette before checking out the goods, hung on racks in the design duo’s emptied-out bedroom.
House muse Violeta Sanchez was also on hand to walk guests through the collection, with its safari vibe and palette loosely inspired by the movies “Mogambo” and “Casablanca.” “It’s still based on the Parisian woman who travels, this idea of the intrepid woman who goes to hostile, foreign, slightly disorienting countries and still remains elegant,” said Sanchez, pointing out the line’s “daring” but flattering summery colors. Looks ranged from jackets in matte Lurex in a range of ice cream shades to a copper satin trench with ruching at the back . Blouses in shimmering silks lent a subtle note of exoticism.
A sleeveless jacket and jumpsuit with a deep-cut décolleté were cut from Cool Wool, typically used for men’s wear, to give a more structured look. But it was a belted safari jacket with rounded sleeves, and a chic khaki variation with patch pockets, that best nailed the globetrotting Parisian theme.
