Spring for Marcelo Quadros was all about being graceful. The designer played with a palette of soft pastels, leaving the bolder statements to be made with the finer details.
Quadros presented a refined, well-edited collection in which the gowns, cover-ups and swimsuits subscribed to simpler, streamlined silhouettes. Gold hardware collars spiced up white halter and cut-out swimsuits, beaded embroidery inspired by palm leaves dazzled silk georgette gowns and feathers added an airy quality to the hem of a dress.
“It’s all about a Brazilian flair,” the designer said after his presentation. “Something sensual and luxurious, but relaxed.”
His opening look was an intricately beaded top and swimsuit bottom followed by a jumpsuit with crisscross detail for the top, deep V-neck gown with flutter sleeves and other looks that could be transferred from the beach to an evening out. The latter is Quadros’ specialty: pieces for galas or other special occasions.
Quadros this season worked with a lot of white, baby pink and sea foam green (even going so far as to hand-dye pearls in the soft green hue), looking to attain a level of simplicity that still grabs people’s attention.
