Optimism rang out loud and clear at Tracy Reese’s spring show as the contemporary designer showed a pretty lineup based on femininity, sparkle and transparency. Bold, oversize flowers were appliquéd onto sheer chiffon dresses, a layer of delicate lace was placed over a sequined slipdress and raw linen was encrusted with crystal beading on a sunflower-yellow coat.
Reese showed some great separates as well: floating capes, off-the-shoulder sweaters, lace sweatshirts and fluid belted trousers. Her only misstep? Two head-to-toe shocking pink finale looks that felt plucked from Barbie’s wardrobe. Reese also collaborated with Sarah Jessica Parker on footwear that truly complemented the collection — most notably, the silver glitter booties.
