“It’s about romance, about love, but done in a modern way,” said Michelle Smith, describing her spring collection. So what does a romantic summer wardrobe look like for the Milly girl? It was all about flirtatious cuts and details — but with a minimalist approach.
Smith showed a blue-and-white shirt (perhaps inspired by the object of her affection) that was off-the-shoulder and featured a gathering detail along the bustline. Another look, a cutout shirtdress, featured a high-low hem. But there were plenty of more feminine options as well, especially in girly fit-and-flare dresses; a maxi-apron-style in linen and white poplin off-the-shoulder number worn over a blue off-the-shoulder shirt were most memorable.

The designer also looked to the spectrum of sunrise to sunset to draw some of her prints, for which the Milly label is known. She showed a chevron jacquard in tones of yellow and orange, which featured a cross back and a plunge neckline. We’re in love.
