While butterflies have been all over the catwalks this Paris couture week, Yiqing Yin trained her sights on its nocturnal cousin, the moth.
Layers of crepe-y gray fabric evoked the dusty insects, while a one-shouldered metallic gown was accessorized with a set of crumbling wings. Thankfully, Yin did not take her theme too literally, using it as a springboard for the textural experiments that are her forte.
One standout: a dress, its top made of thin tubes of cream jersey and its skirt done in pleated fur that segued into sheer white chiffon dotted with small tufts of white fur.
