Pablo Coppola channeled an all-American aesthetic, with references ranging from “Charlie’s Angels” to Pocahontas, for his first resort collection as design director. Sixties and Seventies threads wove their way through this rich, classic collection that was stacked with suede, napa leather and silk printed with fly fishing flies. Coppola worked a palette of summery brights – cobalt, pimento and peach – into structured double-breasted blazers with flared pants made from a mix of silk and neoprene for “a synthetic, ‘Charlie’s Angels’ feel.” More leather work came in high-waisted A-line suede skirts worn with marinière shirts, cropped leather motorcycle jackets, and fringed suede dresses. Lest the collection get weighed down in skins, Coppola showed a silk lightweight navy peacoat and fluid drawstring pajama pants and matching tops, their prints echoing those from the brand’s men’s collection.
