For resort, Miuccia Prada provided a dissertation on how to turn the superclassic and mainstream into something unconventional and edgy. Perfect example: She took a silk faille trench, a Prada staple, and turned it sexy by adding a vertical slash to its side. Also, an ultratraditional cotton bouclé twinset came in unexpected color combinations (lemon yellow, peach, coral), while lace worked its way into daywear on a knee-length gathered dress worn with a geometric print foulard and a polka-dot beret. Prada also referenced her recent men’s spring collection, namely with the studded track jackets and colorful floral prints on feminine silk crepe dresses.
