Pringle of Scotland designer Massimo Nicosia blended tradition with newfangled technology for a collection that unfolded in an ornate Victorian mansion built by William Waldorf Astor overlooking the Thames. The designer took a picture of the green William Morris wallpaper in one room of the mansion with his iPhone, and used a pixilated version of it for jacquard sweaters. He worked a ladder knit — created from nylon powder in a 3-D printer — into a chunky cricket sweater, and conjured trompe l’oeil textures by taking sweaters made from cotton, silk and Lycra, and molding them under high heat so they resembled cable knits.
