Designers Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff are masters of conjuring a mood on catwalk, so to mark the revival of their men’s line, the duo recreated the aftermath of a wild party with a dream-like tableau vivant. Models with an up-all-night air about them lounged in a grand St. James’s apartment that had been furnished with makeshift beds and worn-in armchairs, and strewn with empty bottles of vodka and Pepto-Bismol. As for the clothes, the models sported haphazard combinations of nylon tracksuit bottoms and faded floral print T-shirts; crystal-embellished chiffon caftans worn over jeans; and chunky knit sweaters layered over striped pajama pants. “Everything you see on the boys is some kind of version of my wardrobe,” was Kirchhoff’s interpretation of the surreal spectacle.
