Jeffrey Dodd’s fall collection was inspired by aerial images of Yukon glaciers. The curvature of the shapes was translated into flattering linear paneling on everything from sleek crepe dresses to a fabulous white mink fur with sheared pieces. “I carried through the same idea to the engineered knits,” he explained, which resulted in every piece having a wavy pattern that was strategically placed to follow a women’s shape.
Elsewhere, Dodd showed a few evening options; though not his most established category, it’s nevertheless one he should explore further as the hand-embroidered sequence slinky T-shirt dress was both effortless and special enough to become a coveted piece in women’s closets. “There is a demand for my evening,” he explained. “I’ve had a few of my dresses show up in award shows this season.” Another memorable dress, a black crepe long-sleeve column gown featuring clusters of micro metallic beads at the bodice, “looks and feels easy,” he concluded. We agree.
