Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra took a charmed romp in the forest with a decidedly young fall collection for Costello Tagliapietra. Maybe it was the suspenders on spruce crepe pants worn with snug cropped vests over plaid shirts, or the pleated circle skirts paired with hand-embroidered plaid tops. The designers channeled a bit more sophistication with their slender, below-the-knee, silk satin draped dresses. And the best in show: the tie-front coat and the circle skirt with its matching pullover — all in a chunky, pale gray wool. While the duo executed some fabrics using rather complicated techniques, theirs was still an easy, lighthearted lineup.
