“Dawn breaks and rays of diffused light seep through my window. This image plays on in my mind’s eye.” This moment was the inspiration for Rita Vinieris’ spring bridal collection for Rivini. The designer looked to the English landscape artist J.M.W. Turner and the way he captured light in his works. So how did that translate to dresses? By playing with layers of transparent fabrics, Vinieris created the illusion of the body’s form — as in her first look, a pair of lace shorts and bralette under an organza-and-tulle gown that was hand-embroidered with Chantilly lace and flowers. Other key styles included a sexy, translucent, five-lace strapless gown with a tulle-veil skirt and a princess-style three-quarter-sleeve dress of paillette-encrusted lace with a multilayered organza ball skirt and hand-applied lace.
