Cut glass, specifically the works of Dale Chihuly, informed Pamella Roland’s spring bridal collection, which focused on surface embellishment — via pearlized hand-painting, Swarovski crystals and geometric accents of pearl beading — and also incorporated more gowns with sleeves. The 12-piece lineup contained plenty of traditionally romantic looks, including an off-the-shoulder lace gown in a mermaid silhouette, similar to one Roland designed for her own daughter’s upcoming wedding in September. But for more daring brides, she showed a blush gown with a plunging neckline and a chic, double-faced georgette ivory tuxedo with caviar beading on the lapels, pockets and down the sides of the trousers.
